Nicholas (played by Tiaraju Aronovich)
A native from Moscow, Russia, Nicholas moved to Bloomington, United Sates, with his mother at an early age - running away from the fall of the Soviet Union. As exiled immigrants, Nick and his mother faced discrimination and prejudice. After his mother's death, Nicholas moved to Los Angeles, hoping leave behind the problems he encountered in Indiana. The loneliness which always accompanied him, together with the constant traveling, made him find his family among motorcycle riders (Nick's only true companion was Maria, his girlfriend - an illegal Mexican immigrant). Since his mother's death, motorcycles became Nick's passion and therapy.
At age 17, Nicholas got his American citizenship and joined the US army. As a marine, he went to Iraq in 2003 as a ground fighter. Nick was seriously disturbed not only by the violence he witnessed and practiced, but also by the political and social lies he discovered and the intense use of drugs. Once he returned to the US, he was incapable of focusing, and therefore also incapable of getting a job. Going back to the Army for help, he was given one opportunity by the same superior he obeyed in Iraq: deal drugs in California.

Alex’s father was abusive, and even though his mother loved him, she was never strong enough to stand up to her drunken violent husband. Alex is a painter by trade, but to escape this harsh world he abides in he turns to his art. He took a few art classes in high school, but real basic stuff, all of his talent comes from his heart. This life is all that Alex knows, until one day Nick, a motorcycle riding, leather jacket wearing, bad boy pulls up in Alex’s front yard in search for a room. Charles - Alex's Father (played by Chad C. Kline)
Charles AKA Alex's father was born in Mississippi and relocated with his father to Salt Creek at the age of seven. The father and son family was mourning the recent loss of their wife and mother after her suspicious death formally ruled suicide. Charles was controlled by a demanding and sadistic father. During his formative years and into his teens Charles was subjected to beatings and unusual punishments; he celebrated his fifth birthday party with his father at a cross burning ceremony followed by a lynching. Charles grew up to be a shadow of his father as big man in a small town. He dropped out of school leading into his junior year and found work as a day labor at construction sites in order to support his new wife and soon to be child. Charles is a proud American yet never served in any armed forces or participated in any election, however he does boast his NRA card, confederate flag and likes Kentucky whiskey.

The Sheriff - Daniel McLeod (played by Patrick Tarpey)
Daniel Mcleod, "The Sheriff"- the law of Salt Creek. Daniel was born just outside Salt Creek where he lived with his mother Ruth and father Ty until his mother’s passing. Ty moved his son to Salt Creek when the boy was 5; he has been here ever since. His upbringing was full of strict Christian beliefs and rules of being a man all dictated to him through the drunken ranting of his alcoholic father whom was a headman for the local chapter of the Ku Klux Klan. Daniel was never the man his father wanted him to be if that was possible, Daniel is not a small man but he is not a large man either, being in between always made him a target for bullies and kids not trying to look like wimps. After high school Daniel joined the service and went to the Gulf War but never saw active combat as he was always pulling kitchen duty, a side affect of the anger that was slowly growing inside of him. Being raised by a Klan man the military was the first time Daniel really saw people of color and treated them the way he was accustomed.
Dishonorably discharged, Daniel returned to Salt Creek to discover that his father had passed away, the house was sold and bank accounts taken by bill collectors. Charles (Alex’s father) was in possession of the only thing Ty left his son, a lifetime membership as a Klan’s man. It was through his association that Daniel was appointed Sheriff of Salt Creek. Under his hood and behind his badge is the only way that Daniel is able to feel power, which he abuses frequently.
One evening Daniel and Charles had hog-tied a young man passing through Salt Creek whom they pegged as a homosexual. They took him out to the flats and decided to punish him, the way Ned Beaty was punished in the film DELIVERANCE. This was the last time Daniel ever had an erection. Another strange tidbit about our Sheriff is something that he keeps very secret…he likes the music of Motown. Yes, he quietly listens to the melodies of a race he is sworn to burn; because of this he feels guilt and punishes himself in the name of god, in his tiny little trailer.
Sheriff Daniel McLeod presides over Salt Creek. Remember that and pray you never get pulled over in that town.
